Casas del Bosque is located on 500 acres in the Casablanca Valley, renowned for its white varietals, and also has vineyards in the warmer Rapel Valley, where red varietals thrive. The winery has been in existence since 1993 when the owner, Juan Cuneo Solari, a leading Chilean businessman, decided to invest aggressively to achieve his vision of directly producing the best quality wines. His passion is the pursuit of excellence, and his motto is "calidad en vez de cuantidad", or "quality over quantity." Today, the winery is succeeding at this mission, producing about 200,000 cases per year, and has won awards in Chile, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Belgium.
From the 17th century on the Butron family begun settling in the Cachapoal region pioneering the viticulture industry in the area. From the 1930’s the family started growing their own vines and making wines by Jose Butron. Now, three generations later the grandson Jose Butron has incorporated state-of-the-art technology to lead with rejuvenated vigor the production of high quality wines, yet maintaining longstanding family traditions.
Conceived as a high quality wine that expresses true varietal characteristics from the top Valleys in Chile, La Dote was created by Best Valley Wines. Through years of experience and research we have identified the best regions and producers from the Central Valley to produce our new line. Our hands-on approach to selecting well made wines and the desire to maintain our high standards has generated partnerships with smaller producers to make wines that hold a high value. Our constant interaction with local growers and producers has enabled us to bring to the market over two vintages of exceptional products.
The winery was designed to reflect the desire to maintain the delicate harmony of the natural environment and the original buildings of the surrounding area. When we first came to Botalcura, we were struck by the beauty and imposing character of the local architecture that gracefully blends the richness and simplicity of the old colonial style buildings influenced by the ancient Spanish customs.
