The winery was designed to reflect the desire to maintain the delicate harmony of the natural environment and the original buildings of the surrounding area. When we first came to Botalcura, we were struck by the beauty and imposing character of the local architecture that gracefully blends the richness and simplicity of the old colonial style buildings influenced by the ancient Spanish customs.
Vineyards
Chile’s climate and geography are such that grapes with a range of characteristics and intensities can be grown throughout the country. They travel throughout Chile’s extensive valleys ( Casablanca, Maipo, Rapel, Curico and Maule) in search of the finest grapes to select those that fully express the intense, particular characteristics of the soils and climates from which they originate.
Winemaker
Philippe Debrus has dedicated a lifetime to producing fine wines. Having honed his skills in wine making, viticulture, and technical tasting at some of the most prestigious chateaux of his native France, Philippe has made Chile his home since 1996. It is his distinguished work in these Chilean vineyards that has brought him international acclaim for his wines.
